Anna Min and Tina Cho of Min Enterprises Photography LLC team up with artist Adja Gildersleve for an interactive exhibition exploring the experiences of people who grew up poor but acquired wealth and privilege later in life (aka FOrmerly poOR Folx, or “foor folx”). The show includes photographs, writings, and a new documentary film, Historically Robbed: Minneapolis, which looks at the ways colonialism and capitalism play a part in socioeconomic status. Together, the three artists/curators consider how people who have changed their class status still hold onto memories of growing up poor, and how they bring that knowledge and experience into their day-to-day lives. The show should dive into some complex emotions as it unpacks a topic that is very infrequently discussed.
