First, pleading poverty, the billionaire Twins owner demands a publicly funded stadium. Then he nearly succeeds in selling the team down the river to North Carolina. Then he refuses to let former St. Paul Saints co-owner Mike Veeck put together an offer to buy the club (Veeck, sadly, has since left town to work for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays).
