Do we really need to run down the list of failed professional and collegiate coaches? Luckily, we still have Gardenhire. He's taken an under-budgeted team to the postseason in four of his first five seasons, lightly guiding the most talented young roster in baseball. Gardenhire's apoplectic spasms at umpires in defense of his boys are high comedy, and an old-school reminder of a time when the game was full of lovable goofs. Gardy is certainly one of those, but he's also the best manager in baseball.
