Best of
the Twin Cities
It seems that Summit has heard the people. The second entry in its 30th anniversary series released last May, Keller Pils immediately stole the hearts of locavore drinkers for its simplicity and traditional German flavor. The one-off was so popular that the storied St. Paul brewhouse is now bringing back Keller Pils as a summer seasonal in the upcoming Boundary Waters box. The beer pairs the Bavarian pilsner malt with the Tettnang noble hop, creating a clean-finishing, pale — though slightly spicy — beer that successfully bridges the gap between beer nerd and novice palates. It’s the least gimmicky, most self-evidently great beer to come out of the Twin Cities since, well, Summit EPA.
