Best of
the Twin Cities
Nature’s swell, and most of the great locales of natural beauty around the Twin Cities, rivers and lakes especially, are full of other people who think the same thing. You’ll find plenty of green scenery and less foot traffic on the tree-lined historic Summit Avenue. While Frank Lloyd Wright was known to have hated the mansions that populate this street, many decades later, they make for a more interesting horizon line than stacks of condos or cookie-cutter development houses. Start on the west side, near the Mississippi River, and you’ll begin on a slight incline, then pass four leafy miles, mostly flat and straight, before reaching a nice, curving cool-down descent on Cathedral Hill, into downtown St. Paul.
