Walker Art Center announces Music & Movies lineup

Construction outside the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden have disrupted a few regularly scheduled happenings this summer, including Rock the Garden, which is heading to Boom Island Park, and the artsy mini-golf, which has relocated to the museum's rooftops. However, the Music & Movies will continue at ground level in its usual spot in Loring Park.

As usual, the 38th season is based on a theme inspired by a current exhibition at the Walker. "Ordinary Pictures" celebrates the world of stock photography and commercial images, and examines how that has impacted our aesthetic landscape over the decades.

This year's Monday-night movie lineup features flicks with a flair for meta and media, be it a movie about people filming a segregated TV show, a SNL skit turned feature film, and a man with a camera. Each screening will kick off at 7 p.m. with a concert from a local act, followed by a movie at dusk.

The schedule:
